The artist, Mary Catherine Watson, is known for creating a body of works that push the limits of media, have a signature assymetric balance, and, a blend of styles that capture the sensitivity in the subjects of her art. Her works are uncomparable to works of other artists and her unique vision has coined her "The Vacation Artist" as she has the ability to capture a moment in time and bring that vision to life. For her, a trip to the beach means more than a sand bucket, it must include a few paints, canvas and brushes. It is not uncommon for seawater to be incorporated into the work. Mary Catherine Watson appreciates the beauty God has bestowed upon the world and tries to return a little beauty and joy to the world through her work.

As with any tree, the deeper and wider the root system, the more tolerant of extreme conditions the tree becomes. Catherine brings professionalism and care into the creation of her custom fine art and photography. Her roots are deep in the world of art and art production. And, her pieces transcend time as they often include an aspect of nature.

Creating murals, sculptures, drawings, paintings in all media, works in miniature, and, macro & family photography. Accepting commissions for new pieces with turnarounds as early as two weeks depending on the size and media.
Brief History
Mary Catherine Watson has lived in the Houston Metropolitan Area off and on since 1987 where she has worked as a Master Teacher and created professional art. She has followed her husband as his career developed. Most recently, Mrs. Watson owned and operated Sweet Home Alabama Arts in Monroeville, Alabama. During that time, she created more than 100 works of art in both two and three dimensional media. She is the artist for the original large scale sculptures hanging in the Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa. She has worked with many artists, including NALL and continues to work in her home studio on commissioned pieces.
